Healthcare Marketing: The Monty Python Way

We live in a world where free trials and demos are booming. Rightfully so, it takes out the fear of people being ripped off. It lets them know exactly what they’re getting into before they finalize the contract.  This form of Marketing is being adopted by companies all over the world. Books are being written about it. It’s changed the way we even think; and it’s here to stay.

Everyone, (90% of people on the internet) uses Google multiple times a day; and they are never charged for it. At the end of the month it doesn’t have hidden fees or some maniacal way to get into your wallet. It’s truly free. The same is true for Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia.

mpOne great example of Free marketing is the group Monty Python. They were getting sick and tired of people taking their videos and putting them onto YouTube. Their response to this was astonishing. They in return to people posting their videos, announced that they would upload all there videos in high definition, getting rid of the need to watch the low quality ones that people have been posting. Not only did they add all their videos in HD, they remade the most viewed in a higher quality version. They did this all for free. Their only response was, “But we want something in return, none of your driveling, mindless comments. Instead, we want you to click on the links, buy our movies & TV shows and soften our pain and disgust at being ripped off all these years.” After doing this just a quarter of a year later they had jumped all the way to number 2 on Amazon’s movie and TV shows list. They increased their sales 23,000 percent.  People watched these videos online and thought “wow I love these guys, and their making videos for free; I must buy their stuff.” As you can see the free route for Monty Python paid off big time.

Since I’ve started working at MDWebPro, I have done many cold calls offering our free tools such as Inbound Advisor 30 day trial, Reviews Monitoring and Site Audit; and the most frequent thing I hear is “Yeah, that’s all fine and dandy, but what’s the catch?; or, How do you get paid for this?”

I get asked this question daily; my response is this: “We get paid if in the future you decide it’s in your best interest to take on more of what we offer.” We make our tools to rock, so that when you use them you look like a rockstar.

People like free, and they like being able to trust you.
