As a new clinic or medical practice getting your name, brand, and website out to the community can happen in many different ways. Traditional marketing techniques as well as social media in the healthcare community can be effective when done properly, but what are some other ways to drive traffic to your medical website?
Get out to community events: Being present at community events is a great way to raise awareness about your medical website. Becoming involved with the community is an incredible opportunity to humanize you and your clinics staff, while participating in a positive way.
Seek out speaking opportunities: Speaking opportunities are an excellent way to help establish you and your practice as experts in the community and drive people to your clinics medical website. If you are giving a talk with a technology component, make sure to add a page with your clinics URL as well as social media information.
Comment on other related blogs: Do you or your staff contribute to your clinics blog? Go one step further and lend your expertise to the comment section of other blogs in your specialization. Including your URL in your profile information for the blog you are commenting on will create a breadcrumb type trail back to your website. Do you have a blog post that will enrich the conversation? Ask the author of the blog if you can include the link in the comments.
On printed material: Gone are the days of a business card with only a telephone number and the name of your practice. Gone are the days of a medical brochure that only provides an overly pixelated map of the clinic and the company mission statement. Printed material is an excellent place to make current and potential patients aware of the social media platforms your practice is on and drive traffic to your website. Patients do a great amount of online research before calling for a consultation, so make sure they have your digital information right in front of them.
Your monthly email blast: You monthly medical marketing email is another great opportunity to drive traffic to your website and blog. When patients sign up for your email, they are expecting rich and engaging information. Adding links with a summary of your blog posts into the email blast is a great opportunity to direct people to your website.
